Maccaferri MacGrid® EB Series has been designed and developed to provide interaction capability with many different types of soil and fill material. The actual benefits realized through the use of geogrids, depend upon the type of soil being used with the geogrid.
The installation of MacGrid® EB helps to improve existing soils, creating more predictable stabilization conditions for future construction.
MacGrid® EB series biaxial geogrids have a variety of applications such as: reinforcing a working platform over expansive clays; reinforcing an embankment over a weak subgrade; or base reinforcement of a paved or unpaved road.
The 2 or 3 layers of polypropylene geogrids have been designed to have variable aperture sizes, and are stitched together without superimposing the grid. These multi-layer grids have more tensile elements per unit area than traditional single layer, punched or extruded geogrids. This improves the interaction characteristics enabling the MacGrid® EB series geogrids to interact with a wide range of fill materials.
Maccaferri MacGrid® EB offers:
- HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH
MacGrid® EB is designed to provide the high tensile strength required in soil stabilization and base reinforcement applications, in both machine and transverse roll directions.
- HIGH JUNCTION STRENGTH
MacGrid® EB has high junction strength to ensure proper distribution of imposed stresses throughout the entire geogrid structure.
- HIGH MECHANICAL INTERLOCK
The variable aperture size and many tensile elements of MacGrid® EB provide exceptional mechanical interlock with a wide range of soil classifications.
- HIGH TENSILE MODULUS
MacGrid® EB has high tensile modulus, providing tensile reinforcement with low elongation.
- HIGH RESISTANCE
Manufactured from select polypropylene, MacGrid® EB has high resistance to chemicals found in most soil environments.
